Like the title says.
Keeping it simple, my reasons to question this is based on some words I just noticed in the "Lies my parents told me" transcript.
1. While talking with Giles in the graveyard, Buffy says: "I'm not really sure how I feel about leaving Spike at Robin's house to watch over him."
So, Buffy was the one to tell Spike to go with Robin Wood (the guy she had dated 3 episodes before!).
2. When Spike starts fighting back and stops Wood from staking him, he says: "I know slayers. No matter how many people they've got around them, they fight alone. Life of the chosen one. The rest of us be damned. Your mother was no different."
The rest of 'us'. He is not just talking about Wood and his mother, he is talking about Buffy and himself as well.
3. When Spike meets Buffy outside Wood's place just after the fight occured, he says: "I gave him a pass. Let him live. On account of the fact I killed his mother. But that's all he gets. He even so much as looks at me funny again, I'll kill him."
This is a warning, but not a warning to Wood. Wood is still inside, beaten, and can't hear him. Spike is warning Buffy.
