Rules

PREAMBLE

By registering your account on this board you have already agreed to Proboards Terms of Service and to the Community Guideline, therefore we are just going to focus on a few basic rules that we consider particularly important and pertinent, also based on our past experiences as members of other forums.

Because of this we want you to know that our 'job' here is to ensure that these rules are observed - both for peaceful coexistence and out of respect for Proboards, that hosts our board for free - but in no way we believe to be superior or better than other members. The following rules shall apply to everyone, staff and members equally.

THE RULES

1. Be respectful and civil toward other members AND their arguments as well as toward other real people, such as the actors and the writers of the show. No personal attacks, no insulting, no hateful, spiteful, slanderous, snarking, derogatory comments, no speaking ill of and behind other members

2. No trolling and no unpleasant or groundless comments about the characters just to inflame and upset other fans

3. No dirty words, no swearing, vulgarity, profanity, blasphemies, obscenities and no explicit sex talk

4. No racism, sexism, antigay, sexual labeling or any other form of discrimination toward people or group of people, shipping fans included

5. No nude images, no pornography and no links to this kind of stuff

6. No political or religious discussions

7. No advertising and spamming

8. No copyright infringement, no talking of or linking to illegal stuff (streaming or download of episodes or comics), no posting images, videos, fanfictions, articles, comments from other forums or other copyrighted material without mentioning the source

9. No claiming your opinions are facts unless you have evidence and proof to support them

10. No spoilers

11. No intimate, personal discussions.

HANDLING THE OFFENCES

The Staff alone is allowed to manage these situations but all the members are encouraged to report the infractions, regardless of who is the offended party.

Depending on its severity and on its author's precedents, the offence will be handled accordingly: by deleting or editing the offending comment, with a public and/or private warning, with a temporary or in the worst cases a permanent ban.

With the exception of the most serious cases, which will result in a permanent ban, the Staff will motivate their decision to the member concerned and the latter will have the opportunity to explain their reasons privately. Keep in mind though that the last word is up to the Staff because we don't want this board to be a dictatorship but at the same time it's not even an anarchy.

SUGGESTIONS?

We believe we have covered every possible situations, based on what we see happening on other boards and what we do NOT want to happen here, but if you think something is missing please feel free to propose opening a new thread here.
