I'm reading season 10 but never read the previous seasons because from the reviews I read they weren't worth it but lately I got curious about Spike and Buffy relationship. They are together now, but I was asking myself how did they get there? So I started s9 (ok, s8 comes first but I can't bring myself to read it. Not yet!) and whoa was I surprised!!!
First there is Buffy making a pass at Spike. Mmmmmm she wants to make him beg
but Spike doesn't even throw her a crumble. "Not this year" Poor Buffy, it must have been hard to be rejected so harshly 
and some time later he is making out with a random girl under her eyes! I must say I didn't expect this from Spike, but I can't fault him. She has played with him too much and too often. But I feel for her too and I think that has something to do with her getting so drunk, with making a pass at Riley and definitely with her mean and unfair behavior when she meets Spike the following night:
